The police said the kidnapper, Eric Otu, took Esi Kwani, a daughter of a sports presenter at the local radio station at Nkoranza, Jerryson FM popularly known as Daddy Brown hostage.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Christopher Tawiah told Graphic Online that the kidnapper called Brown from his mobile phone and informed him that he had kidnapped his daughter and that until his investment was refunded, he would not release the daughter.

The kidnapper is said to have deposited GhȻ15,000 at one of the microfinance companies, Jasta Motors, which has not been able to pay back the deposits of its numerous customers in the region.

Graphic Online’s checks from Nkoranza indicate that Brown used his radio programme to explain that the microfinance concept was genuine which encouraged the kidnapper to deposit the GhȻ15, 000.00 at Jasta Motors.

ASP Tawiah stated that, Daddy Brown who reported the matter to the police on Sunday said even though he agreed to find some money for the kidnapper; he (the kidnapper) refused because the amount was not up to what he demanded.

Otu was later on Monday arrested by the police together with a lady, Bridget Twenewaa who he directed Daddy Brown to make the payment to.

The little girl has since been re-united with her parents unharmed.

Eyewitness from Nkoranza told Graphic Online that some youth who are supporters of Daddy Brown Monday afternoon stormed the Jerryson FM Station demanding that the management accede to the demand of the kidnapper by paying the GhȻ15,000.00 to facilitate the release of the girl.

Police added the mob succeeded to lock up the station with their own padlocks thus preventing the station from operating.
