The PwC Business School also has an external focus with general and customised training programmes targeted at small-scale enterprises (SMEs), multinational firms, public sector entities and non-profit organisations.

The Minister of Education, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who launched the school, said PwC’s concept of business knowledge and skills development was the answer for quality education delivery in institutions and organisations operating in the country and across the world.

Programmes

She said the school would offer a wide range of programmes that would involve the use of good training skills to teach students at a number of locations countrywide.

The Territory Senior Partner of PwC Business School, Mr George Arhin, said the company recognised the importance of skills development and knowledge sharing; not only in its business but also to benefit the community.

He also said the school was designed for workers to provide students with practical lessons to transform their mindset and equip them with knowledge to build strong structures for themselves.

He added: “We believe that unlocking the potentials of our people would enable them consistently deliver outstanding results,” adding that the PwC’s Business School was designed to provide professionals with practical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

According to him, available courses include taxation and related regulatory policies, accounting, corporate governance, information and communications technology (ICT), among others.

Addressing participants during the launch, the Regional Senior Head, Uyi Akpata, said the school would take individuals and participants through a mindset transformation training programme that would encourage them to fight for national development.

The United States Ambassador to Ghana, Gene Cretz, said the school established by PwC was a symbol of commitment to ensure that Ghana and West Africa had access to training opportunities that would meet the high standards demanded by the global companies.

Mr Stephen Owusu, a participant, lauded the initiative of the business school programmes being merged with that of existing tertiary schools.

That, he said, would go a long way to empower the youth and encourage them to achieve greater prospects in life.
