Public urged to drink good quality water

The Managing Director of Tovila Water Solutions, a water treatment solution organisation, Mr Tony Lawal, has expressed concern about the quality of water being produced and offered to the public by some companies.

He said it was time the public paid attention to the quality of water they consumed since drinking polluted water could be dangerous to one’s health and eventually affect national productivity.

Mr Lawal was making a presentation at the Water Research Institute (WRI) of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)  in connection with a ‘Water Quality Water Treatment’ training programme scheduled to come off from August 26 to 31, 2013 in Accra.

The training is the second to be organised by the company. The first one came off  in February this year.

According to Mr Lawal, the training would be organised in collaboration with DHP Incorporated from the USA, and would cover operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance and control using live reverse osmosis equipment with pre-and-post treatment solutions.

He said after the practical training, participants would be exposed to vast employment opportunities in the water treatment industry in Ghana and elsewhere while organisations that train their staff would reduce operational downtime through overall plant efficiency since the training would focus on advanced technologies and mechanisms.

In addition, he said, water treatment equipment dealers or technicians would, after the training, have a good and long-lasting relationship with their clients since the training would include practical techniques which were usable immediately for improved service performance.

The Human Resource Manager of Tovila Water Solutions, Victoria Naa Shika, said the aim of the pre-presentation was to give a detailed outline of the one-week training programme content to interested people.
