Pru District to get new pontoon

According to her, a careful study had shown that the old pontoon, which had only one engine operating, often broke down, making travelling on the lake very difficult and uncomfortable.

She assured Ghanaians that the ministry would  work hard to make travelling easier and appealed to private transport operators  to co-operate with the ministry to remove old vehicles on the roads to help reduce  road accidents.

Alhaji Aminu Sulemana, the Minister of Roads and Highways, for his part, appealed to drivers to be extra careful to prevent accidents on the roads.

“We cannot  afford to see people lose their lives through road accidents  day in and day out,” he pointed out, and said some of those accidents  were avoidable.

Alhaji Sulemana  further advised drivers, passengers, transport owners and the public to help address the high rate of road accidents in the country.

 He also assured the people that the ongoing road project from Prang to Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region would be completed within the shortest possible time to open up the area for  development.

Alhaji  Sulemana appealed to Muslim  communities to make the education of their children a top priority, since it was the bedrock for the development of every society.

Among those who attended the rally were Ms Barbra Asamoah, Deputy Minister designate for Lands and  Natural Resources,  and Mr Sanjak Nanji, the Member of Parliament for Atebubu Amantin  in the Brong Ahafo Region.
