Police to recruit 4,000 personnel in 2018

The police administration will this year recruit 4,000 personnel as part of efforts to break the fear syndrome and make every citizen feel safe in the country.

The Minister of the Interior, Mr Ambrose Dery, who gave the hint said the move is also to improve the police to civilian ratio which is presently 1 police officer to 848 civilians.

Mr Dery was speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony for the phase three of the security services housing unit at the National Police Training School at Tesano in Accra today.
