Presenting the vests, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mr John Atsu Jaoudeh, said the gesture was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to ensure safety in the country.

He indicated that the gesture was also in response to the request by the Police Service for logistics support.
“As part of our duty to ensure safety, we deem it necessary to support the police to reduce the rate at which accidents occur,” he said.

Response

Receiving the vests, the Director General of the MTTD, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Angwubutoge Awuni, commended the company for the support, adding that the vests would help check indiscipline that resulted in motor accidents.

He said the reflective vests would notify drivers of the presence of the police on the roads and thereby deter drivers and other motorists from committing offences on the road.

“When drivers and other motorists sight these vests, they recognise the presence of the police and as such are cautious not to commit deeds that cause accidents,” he said.

He called on other companies to support the police in their effort to ensure safety on the roads.
