The Oti Regional Police Command has intercepted a DAF articulator truck with registration number GE 3906-15, suspected to be conveying narcotic substances concealed in secret compartments.
According to a police statement dated September 18, 2026, the interception occurred on September 14, acting on intelligence. A search of the concealed compartments led to the discovery of 5,164 compressed round parcels suspected to contain narcotic substances.
Three suspects were arrested and named as Abdul Razak Adamu, 35, a driver; Jubril Amidu, 33, a mechanic; and Aliu Adamu, 33, a driver.
A fourth occupant, Adamu Iddi, escaped.
On September 17, the three arrested persons were arraigned before the Dambai Circuit Court, presided over by Justice Dr. Moses Bedima Duut, and were remanded into Police custody to reappear on October 15, 2026.
The truck has been impounded, while the exhibits have been secured to assist investigations.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the escaped suspect and identify other persons connected to the consignment.
