Police impound 149 unregistered motorbikes and 107 vehicles in special operation

The Police Administration says it impounded 149 unregistered motorbikes and 107 unregistered vehicles in a four-hour special operation on Monday.

The operation conducted in various parts of Accra and Tema is part of ongoing measures to check various acts of criminal incidents especially the use of unregistered motorbikes and vehicles on the roads and involved personnel from the various operational units from the Police, a statement signed by the Director-General of Police Public Affairs, Assistant Commissioner of Police David S. Eklu said.

The statement said four other persons caught in possession of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were also arrested.

The Police Administration also assured members of the general public of continued police protection as they go about their daily activities.
