Police CID launch investigations into "gang rape" video

The Ghana Police Service says it has set up an investigation team to analyse a video recording of what appears to be a gang rape involving a young lady and at least five men.

A statement issued by the police administration on Monday  aid the team has been constituted at the CID Headquarters to analyse the video with the aim of identifying those involved and get them arrested for the necessary legal processes to be activated.

The Police has therefore appealed to the public to make available any relevant information to the Cyber Crime Unit of the CID Headquarters for further action.

Meanwhile, the Police has appealed to all those in possession of the video to stop circulating it.

“The Police CID is therefore appealing to all media houses and those in possession of the video to stop circulating it since it is an offence to circulate such obscene materials.”
