The Special Operations Team of the Ghana Police Service has arrested 41 suspects during an intelligence-led operation at Lapaz and Chantan in Accra on October 15.
The operation, conducted at about 12:00 pm, targeted criminal and narcotics-related activities in the two areas.
The suspects, comprising 35 males and six females, were arrested following the operation. A search conducted on the suspects and within the operational areas led to the retrieval of quantities of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic substances.
All 41 suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with investigations.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the source, ownership, and intended use of the suspected narcotic substances, after which appropriate legal action will be taken against any suspect found culpable.
