Pastor donates ambulance to Kade Government Hospital

An America-based Ghanaian pastor of the Christ Pentecostal International Church, Rev. Ebenezer Adarkwah, has donated an ambulance to the Kade Government Hospital to facilitate its activities.

The donation was in response to an appeal made by the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Theodore Dorvlo.

Making the presentation, Rev. Adarkwah said he decided to donate the ambulance when he saw a woman in labour being carried in the bucket of a Nissan pick-up vehicle from a village to the hospital when he came to Ghana earlier this year.

He advised the driver and authorities of the hospital to take proper care of the vehicle.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwaebibirem, Mr Seth Antwi-Boasiako, who received the ambulance on behalf of the hospital, thanked Rev. Adarkwah for the donation and advised the hospital authorities to take proper care of it and maintain it regularly.

He said he was once a witness to an ambulance being used to cart Indian hemp in one of the regions in the country and, therefore, advised the driver of the vehicle to use it for its real purpose.

For his part, Dr Dorvlo expressed profound gratitude to Rev. Adarkwah, who is a citizen of Kade, for the gesture.

He stressed that due to the lack of an ambulance at the hospital, the authorities were compelled to charter taxis for referral patients at huge costs at the expense of the affected patients and their families.

Dr Dorvlo complained about insufficient wards and beds at the hospital, adding that sometimes three in-patient children were put on a single bed.

He, therefore, appealed to well-to-do individuals and organisations to take a cue from Rev. Adarkwah to provide the facility with more wards and beds to solve the problems.
