The "one district, one factory", the President said, has all the strategies for take off in place and from this month onwards, the Trade and Industry Ministry, will start rolling it out as promised.

The President speaking on day one of his five-day tour of the Western and Central regions, reminded Ghanaians that they are not poor to wallow in abysmal poverty in the face of resources available to the country.

He therefore urged Ghanaians to rally behind him, saying, “I have said it before and I'm saying it again that Ghana and its people are not poor people to remain in perpetual poverty this long.”

President Akufo-Addo said, with good strategies and focus, the resources at the disposal of the country would be used to the benefit of each Ghanaian.

He said the government is paying attention to areas such as agriculture by moving cocoa production from a million tones to 1.5 million tones during his mandate.

The President said it was important to ensure that critical attention is given to the cocoa sector to ensure that cocoa farmers are reassured to get the sector working again.
