One person died after a truck loaded with plywood overturned at the Kamirekrom Immigration Checkpoint on the Goaso–Kukuom highway following brake failure, the Ghana National Fire Service has confirmed.
In a statement issued by the service, it said the incident occurred on July 9 when the truck reportedly suffered brake failure while attempting to stop at the checkpoint and overturned.
Firefighters from the Goaso Municipal Fire Station handled the rescue operation, extricating one victim, identified only as Frank, who was trapped beneath the load of plywood. He was confirmed dead.
