Offinso North will see rapid development - MP assures constituents

The Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Augustine Collins Ntim, has assured that Offinso North will see rapid development as a district in the next four years.

He said government policies and programmes that had changed the face of development of the district over the past four years would be upscaled in the second term of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to further enhance the development of the district.

Mr Ntim, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Offinso North Constituency, made the statement at a get-together he organised for a cross section of the people in the district on New Year’s Day.

In attendance were traditional, religious and zongo community leaders, members of the council of elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency, and youth groups.

Mr Ntim said with their continued support and encouragement, the objective of seeing the district advance in the development journey would be achieved.

Appreciation

He said the get-together was another way to demonstrate his appreciation to the chiefs and people for the support they had given him since the era of President John Agyekum Kufuor when he was the Chief Executive for both Offinso North and South districts.

He has since transitioned to become the MP for the area for four consecutive terms.

Mr Ntim further assured the people that he would continue to put his experience and leadership at their disposal, and, in concert, ensure sustainable development of the area.

He praised the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr David Akwasi Asare, for his hard work and sense of collaboration, saying it had provided the necessary platform for the development of the district.

The MP also expressed appreciation to the chiefs, queen mothers and people for their involvement in the Planting for Food and Jobs programme and participation in cashew growing.

Supporting communities

The Chief of Asempaneye, Nana Kofi Aboagye III, thanked Mr Ntim for supporting the communities with infrastructural development.

He stressed that since he took office as MP, all the communities in the district had benefited from various infrastructural development.

Nana Aboagye called on the people to rally behind Mr Ntim in his efforts to transform the area.
