Nine hours on, Tema Central Medical Stores fire still burns

Fire fighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) are still fighting to put down the raging fire at the Tema Central Medical Stores nine hours after it started.

“Nine warehouses are already destroyed by the fire and we are left with only the mechanical workshop,” reports Graphic Online’s Xornam Glover at 7pm Tuesday.

The havoc is suspected to have started from incinerated rubbish close to the bulk store for medicals and consumables for all public health institutions in the country.

Glover reports that the firemen are still at the scene of the fire but it is unclear how soon they can conveniently put down the fire.
