New medication introduced to Ghanaian market

A new pain relief ointment has been introduced to the Ghanaian market by Reckitt Benckiser, a British multinational consumer goods company, in collaboration with Ernest Chemists Limited, a local drug manufacturer and distributor.

The ointment, called MOOV, which was launched in Accra, comes in the gel format and helps relieve pain, while its application helps keep one active.

Addressing the media at the launch, the Business Development Officer of Reckitt Benckiser, Mr Chukwuemeka Okeke, said MOOV is a safe medication for external use.

According to him, MOOV kept one energised, enhanced performance and helped to tune the body for a healthy lifestyle.

Quality brand

He said MOOV was relatively new on the market but it was a quality brand that had proved to be effective after use.

“Exercising is done occasionally by many, since only a few perceive it to be important because they feel that they lead active lifestyles due to their daily activities which are physically demanding,” he said.

He noted that “the product can, therefore, be applied by such people to the waist, back, knees to enhance one’s fitness”.

According to Mr Okeke, MOOV’s fast pain relief formula was further fortified with Nilgiri oil, which contains other active ingredients such as Tarpin oil, oil of Wintergreen and Mint flowers.

He said MOOV penetrated deep inside the skin and produced warmth, which helped users recover fast from body aches and other forms of  physical weariness.

MOOV, according to the business development manager, is also available in an aerosol spray and ideal for people with hectic lifestyles,  personalities prone to recurring backaches and active sports persons among others.

Reckitt Benckiser's brands include Dettol, Harpic, Mortein, Air Wick, Gaviscon, Strepsils, Nurofen, Lemsit, Bonjela gel, Woodwords Gripe water and Durex.

The company’s products are sold in almost 200 countries, including India, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.
