The items were made up of milk, sugar, rice, cooking oil, clothing, washing powder, hand gloves and toiletries.

The presentation formed part of the church’s support for the needy and the underprivileged in society, and climaxed the third anniversary celebration of the church’s existence.

The delegation from the church, which made the presentation, was led by its Head Pastor and Founder, Fr Francis Otuo Serebour, and included his wife, Mrs Rebecca Otuo Serebour, and the leader of the Monday Group of the church, Mr Ofori Amoako.

Fulfilling Scripture

In an interview with the Daily Graphic after the presentation, Fr Serebour said the donation was in fulfilment of a passage in the Scripture that encouraged Christians to help the needy and the underprivileged in society.

According to him, the donation would enable the inmates of the leprosarium to feel a part of society and experience love.

“As Christians, we’re mandated to help the poor and needy in society in order to fulfil Scripture,” he said.

The delegation also interacted with the inmates and encouraged them not to lose hope  but rely on  God for the best.

He commended the management of the centre, especially its Founder, Rev. Fr Andrew Campbell, and the team of caretakers for their devotion and love.

Fr Serebour assured them that the church would continue to assist the leprosarium in whatever way it could.

Appreciation

The Class Prefect of the leprosarium, Mrs Gladys Adobea, received the items and thanked the church for its kind gesture.

She urged individuals and corporate institutions to assist the leprosarium.

An inmate responded to the gesture by presenting a drawing of the Holy Bible to the church.
