NDC and NPP supporters celebrate victory in Tamale

Supporters of both the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tamale Central Constituency are jubilating on the streets of Tamale, claiming victory in this year's polls.

Although the Tamale Central Constituency's results are yet to be collated and declared by the returning officer in the constituency, supporters from both sides are claiming victory in both the parliamentary and presidential polls.

Representatives from both NDC and NPP have raised issues of over voting and double voting in the constituency, thus delaying the collation process.

The parliamentary candidates for both NDC and NPP, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini and Ibrahim Anyars Imoro are at the collation room monitoring the exercise.

For instance, just in front of the Northern Regional House of Chiefs, where the Tamale Central Constituency's collation centre is located, large crowds of NPP and NDC supporters have gathered at one side of the road that divides the house of chiefs.

However, some of the jubilant supporters are riding on motor bikes without their exhaust pipes' silencer, thus making a lot of noise around the collation centre.

Meanwhile, heavily armed security personnel, including the military and police are at the entrance and compounds of the House of Chiefs where the results are being collated.

Military mowags and police water-canon have also been stationed at the entrance of the house of chiefs.
