National Service Authority to prioritise agriculture and agribusiness

The Director of the National Service Authority, Felix Gyamfi, has stated that agriculture and agribusiness will be the primary focus of the Authority’s initiatives.

Speaking on Channel One TV on February 17, he emphasised the importance of encouraging graduates to explore opportunities in agriculture, highlighting its potential for economic growth and job creation.

"We will do other things, but the centre of our activity will be agriculture," he stated.

He underscored the vast opportunities within the sector and envisioned a future where graduates actively engage in agribusiness, contributing to national development.

"Why shouldn't a graduate from my background have a 2,500-capacity poultry farm, sell the produce to KFC after four weeks, and generate significant income? Why shouldn't we have farms across Atebubu, owned by graduates who studied economics, supplying a factory in Sunyani? This is what I am ready to encourage our youth to pursue," he added.

Mr Gyamfi outlined his vision to support graduates in establishing and managing profitable agricultural enterprises, ultimately boosting the local economy and enhancing food security.

By prioritising agriculture and agribusiness, he explained that the Authority aimed to create sustainable employment opportunities and promote economic resilience.
