The items — 300 cartons of bottled water, 300 packs of biscuit and 20 sacks of five-kilogramme rice — were meant to feed the surviving victims at the two health institutions.
The donation was made through the Accra Regional Coordinating Council and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
The Communication Director of the Melcom Group, Mr Godwin Avenorgbor, who presented the items in Accra, described last Wednesday’s flood as a “catastrophic.”

Wednesday flood
A twin fire and flood disaster last Wednesday night left more than 150 Ghanaians dead.
Houses and properties running into millions of Ghana cedis were also destroyed.
President John Dramani Mahama has announced a GH¢60 million package to assist the victims.
He has also declared a three-day national mourning, which begins next Monday.
According to Mr Avenorgbor, one of the victims of the flood was a worker of Melcom, and that “management immediately put together the assorted items to support the victims.”

Government grateful
Receiving the items on behalf of the two health institutions, the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Djanmah Vanderpuye, commended Melcom Group for its swift response to support the victims.
He called on other corporate institutions to contribute their quota to support the victims.
