Mashallans donate to schools in Wa

The Mashallan Relief Development Service (MEREDES) of the Sekondi-Takoradi Roman Catholic Church Diocese in the Western Region has donated a quantity of textbooks to eight educational institutions in Wa in the Upper West Region.

The textbooks, worth millions of cedis and covering various subjects, are to be used from kindergarten (KG) to the tertiary level. The donation is an annual event to commemorate activities marking Ghana’s Republic Day.

The beneficiary institutions included the Jahan College of Education at Wa and Mc-Coy College of Education at Nadowli. Others are Sankana KG, Wa St  John R/C KG, Wa St. Paul's Methodist Junior High School (JHS) and Sankana JHS. The rest are Daffiama, Lassie Tuolun and Sister Victoria Yellu senior high schools.

The textbooks were presented on behalf of MEREDES by Mr Vincent Pugun, a member of the North-Western Regional Grand Knight and Ladies of  Mashall.

Receiving the books on behalf of the various institutions, the Headmaster of Daffiama SHS, Mr Simon Yeng Bonsodong, expressed his profound appreciation and promised that the items will be put to the best possible use.
