Man defiles daughter, 12
A carpenter, who repeatedly defiled his 12-year-old daughter at Mahia near Amasaman has been remanded in police custody by the Accra Circuit Court.

James Debrah, 47, was charged with two counts of defilement and incest .
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded to reappear on October 26, this year.
Prosecuting, Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire, told the court, presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, that the complainant, the mother of the victim, and Debrah were married but separated two years ago.
He said the mother took custody of their four children but somewhere in December 2014, the victim and her two siblings visited their father during the holidays at Mahia.
Inspector Atimbire said when they were retiring to bed, Debrah asked the victim to remove her dress and he gave her cloth to cover herself.
He said Debrah and her daughter slept on the same bed while her siblings slept on the floor and abused the victim.
“Debrah continuously picked the victim to his place of abode alone under the guise of a visit and repeated the act,” Detective Inspector Atimbire told the court.
At about 6 p.m. on September 25, 2015, Debrah as usual went to the complainant’s place at Sakumono in Accra, picked the victim alone and took her to his place and again had sex with her.
“On September 26, this year, the victim went home and the mother who was suspicious of Debrah’s behaviour questioned her and she revealed the act to her mother,” the prosecutor stated.
According to Inspector Atimbire, the mother then reported the case to the police at Baatsona on October 1, 2015 and a medical form was issued to her to send the victim to the hospital for examination.
The prosecutor said the mother returned her daughter’s medical form endorsed by a medical officer and on October 7, this year Debrah was arrested.
