The police in Sunyani have launched a manhunt for a
34-year-old man who allegedly inflicted machete wounds on his ex-girlfriend and
another man at Adentia, a farming community in the Sunyani West District in the
Brong Ahafo Region.
The suspect, Kwabena Appiah-Agyei, who could not stand the sight of his lover, Ms Mary Konadu, 32, in the arms of another man, Mr Kwadwo Mandana, 34, was said to have committed the act about 10 p.m. on Sunday when he accosted them on a bush path.
Both Mr Mandana and Ms Konadu, who sustained severe machete wounds following the attacks on them by the suspect, were rushed to the Regional Hospital in Sunyani where they are receiving treatment.
Briefing the Daily Graphic in Sunyani Monday, the Brong Ahafo Regional Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent Mr Peter Baba, said the relationship between the suspect and Ms Konadu turned sour about a month and a half ago.
He said the suspect did not take kindly to the fact that Ms Konadu had jilted him for another man.
He, therefore, decided to punish his ex-girlfriend and her new lover.
He was said to have fled the town after committing the offence.
