Literary festival hosts prominent writers
Writers and literary activists from Ghana, Togo, South Africa, Canada and Nigeria will converge on the Goethe-Institut in Accra from Friday, October 20, for a three-day literary festival dubbed, ‘Pagya!’

There will be readings, performances, workshops and panel discussions at the festival aimed primarily at getting more people to patronise books and good writing.
Other events lined up for the festival include a conversation between prominent Ghanaian writers, Prof Ama Ata Aidoo and Kobina Eyi Acquah as well as the outdoor of the Abena Korantemaa Prize for Oral
History and the launch of the Ghana edition of Nigerian author, Chuma Nwokolo's new book, The Extinction of Menai.
Some of the Guest Authors are Niq Mhlongo, Sabata Mpho-Mokae (South Africa), Wayne Johnson (Canada),Chuma Nwokolo, Eghosa Imasuen, Adewale Maja-Pearce (Nigeria) and Kangni Alem (Togo).
Some Ghanaian writers expected to participate actively in the festival include Nana Awere Damoah, Kofi Akpabli, Raymond Tuvi and Dr Mawuli Adjei.
Throughout the festival, there will be stands set up by publishers and bookshops for interactive sessions with prospective writers and the public with a special focus on comic books.
The festival is being organised by the Writers Project of Ghana and the Goethe-Institut in Accra.
