Hajia Zainabu Adams is the first prosecution witness in the trial of Gregory Afoko, the man indicted for allegedly killing the former regional party chairman.

The prosecution has told the court which has empaneled a 7-member jury, that Gregory Afoko and one Asabke Alangdi thought to be on the run, on May 20, last year poured a liquid suspected to be acid on Adams Mahama following an intra-party fracas.

The incident is said to have happened at about 11:10pm when the late chairman had just reached home from work. His wife, Hajia Adams, was thought to have been the first to offer help when her husband screamed for help.
