Kese, aka Abodam (real name - Emmanuel Botwe), was arraigned at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Circuit Court Monday morning and charged with the offence.

His plea was not taken.

Graphiconline reporter, Kwadwo Baffoe Donkor who was in court reports that counsel for Kese, Nana Kwasi Boaitey pleaded for bail.

But the court presided over by Mr Justice William Boampong deferred ruling on the bail application to December 8, 2014.

According to Donkor, counsel argued that the speculation by the police that the substance was Indian hemp was not enough for the court to deny the accused bail.

Counsel said already the image of Kese had suffered saying cigarette can be confused with any other thing, so under the circumstances, Kese should be granted bail.

According to our reporter Kwadwo Donkor,  Kese appeared in court wearing a white shirt over black jeans and snickers. He was smiling when he arrived in court but his mood changed when he was refused bail.
