Two fugitives arrested in Kwabenya police shooting

Two fugitives who escaped from cell during an attack on the Kwabenya Police Station Sunday morning have been arrested by the Police.

The two are Prince Osei and Atta Kwadwo.

The two were arrested on Tuesday, January 23, at Worawora in the Volta Region.

Briefing the press Thursday, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante Apeatu said two other persons suspected to have aided the escape of the fugitives were arrested in Accra on Monday and Wednesday.

The accomplices are Nancy Dentaa, also known as Ewuraama, 28 years and George Yeboah Ackah, alias Kwesi Shower.

One more person, Kofi Acheampong, alias Nana Owuo, aged 32 was also arrested on Wednesday at Afienya.

According to the Police, Kofi Acheampong is believed to be the spiritual father of the suspects and the source of weapons supply to the suspects.

Upon his arrest, items such as skeletons and a coffin were found.

“A lot of intelligence has been gathered and they are being processed by a specialized team of investigators. We are therefore confident of arresting all the fugitives and all persons connected to their escape and murder of Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi,” the IGP said.
