The late Kofi Sarfo Assiamah, father of former Minister for Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, will be honoured at a three-day funeral at Denkyira Dominase in the Central Region from October 30 to November 1, 2026.
Mr Sarfo Assiamah died on October 27, 2025, after a short illness.
He began his career as a teacher before joining the Ghana Armed Forces, where he served and rose through the ranks. He later joined the then Social Security Bank, now Societe Generale Ghana, where he served as a marketing officer before rising to become Director of the Consumer Credit Department. He subsequently ventured into business.
He is survived by his wife, Madam Dora Assiamah, children, grandchildren, siblings and a large extended family.
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice President and New Patriotic Party flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and former Energy Minister Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh are expected to attend the funeral. Also expected are former National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaah, former Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, senior government officials, Members of Parliament and several former ministers. Members of the Masonic fraternity, to which the deceased belonged, are also expected to attend.
Funeral activities will begin on Friday, October 30, 2026, with the main funeral observance at Denkyira Dominase. A private burial service will take place on Saturday, October 31, followed by the final funeral rites. The celebration will conclude with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
