There are reports that some miscreants have taken advantage of the on-going relocation exercise being undertaken by the assembly at Kejetia to extort money from traders with the promise of facilitating their being allocated space.

“All vehicles/ drivers and traders who are to relocate to the Race Course, are to deal with KMA accredited officials especially the Terminal Manager at the Race Course and find out the arrangements that have been made for allocation of spaces to them,’ a statement issued and signed by the assembly’s Public Relations Officer, Godwin Okumah Nyame said.

The statement said anybody who pays money to any impersonator at the Race Course does so at his or her own risk.

It said only a portion of the entire stretch of land at the Race Course has been allocated to the assembly, however, it has been observed that some traders are taking the law into their own hands by encroaching beyond the demarcated area.

The statement cautioned such traders that they would not be allowed to occupy those sites outside the designated area for their business.

It also warned transport operators operating from unapproved areas at Kejetia and Adum to ensure that they move to the approved terminals allocated to them.
