Kenneth Agyapong explains why he attacked Anas
The Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Kenneth Agyapong has explained why he mounted a spirited attacks on the credibility and modus operandi of the ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas last year.
Mr Agyapong in 2018 mounted series of attacks on Anas and his Tiger Eye P.I team, following the release of the Number 12 documentary that exposed sports corruption in Ghana’s football.

In an audio recording purported to be that of Mr Agyapong, he said he was contracted by some top politicians within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to destroy the image and credibility of Anas and his team after some elders within the party had the privilege to preview the documentary.
He said the elders within the party after viewing the content of the video sent some people to his residence at about 9pm and begged him to defend the party against the impacts of the documentary.
He added that after he was asked to defend the party, he and his wife went on many media platforms defending the party against the Number 12 exposé documentary.
Mr Agyapong said after defending the party, he was highly embarrassed in the floor of parliament, including members of his own party.
According to him, he is fed up with the party and that he will not defend the party again neither would he use his money to finance the party’s activities.
The maverick politician said he has made life for himself and needed not to be looked down upon by anybody all in the name of politics, saying “I am tired of NPP.”
According to him, the party has not treated him well, considering what he has been doing for the party.
Mr Agyapong also vowed not to publicly tell the truth in the Number 12 exposé.
The vociferous MP during an interview with Accra-based Asempa Fm on May 28, 2018, after Anas had released a teaser of the Number 12 documentary, dared Anas to proceed to show the documentary on sports corruption in Ghana on June 6 and that if he does, he (Mr Agyapong) will also expose him.
