KATH receives cardiac monitors from Angel Foundation
The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has received six Patient Cardiac Monitors, a donation from the Angel Foundation, a subsidiary of the Angel Group of Companies.

The monitors valued at $30,000 are expected to help in the hospital’s effort to reduce the number of deaths recorded at the facility through cardiovascular diseases and other related illnesses.
Dr Kwaku Oteng, presented the equipment to the Emergency Medicine Unit of the hospital.
According to the hospital authorities, the facility requires at least $250,000 every five years to replace obsolete equipment at the Emergency Medicine Department, but this has been difficult to accomplish because of financial restraints.
The Director of Nursing Services at the KATH, Madam Patience Yeboah Ampong, said it was medically unwise to maintain the same beds and other facilities after years of use. Under the circumstances, she said, it was paramount that equipment at the unit were changed.
She was optimistic that the new relationship formed between the hospital and the Angel Group of Companies would be of mutual benefit, particularly to patients at the hospital.
Dr Oteng said the company would endeavour to offer regular support to the hospital and would replace old equipment in the department.
He said there were plans to have the company adopt one of the wards and bring it up to international standards.
The Acting Head of the Emergency Medicine Department, Dr Kwaku Nyame, expressed his appreciation to the company for the gesture and was hopeful that the relationship formed between the hospital and the company would last.
The Angel Group of Companies, which produces Adonko Bitters, a local drink, also donated GH¢100,000 towards the completion of the Baby and Mother Unit currently under construction at the hospital. The unit is an initiative of the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
