Katanga mourns PV Obeng

The state of our saddened hearts cannot be expressed in these few words, as feelings cannot be contained entirely in words. The jaws of death once again have gripped another fellow, snatching him from life. The demise of Paul Victor Obeng, the Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) and a Senior Presidential Advisor, was a shock which came like a 'hurricane thunderbolt’.

A healthy man pronounced dead suddenly brought us much disbelief. Our curiosity was, however, confirmed when one of the radio stations announced the death in its news bulletin.

As a former hall president of the University Hall (Katanga) P.V., as he was affectionately referred to, brought forth many remarkable developments that have been built upon to make Katanga a fortress among all university halls.

His efforts and willingness to protect and defend Katanga Hall  at all times have placed Katanga in a position as the best hall in Ghana.

Grief engulfs us now, as the whole nation weeps at death's open door.

The nation has lost a gem who sought to build a better country for generations unborn, as he played  efficient roles in the positions he held in this country. Some include Chairman of KNUST University Council.

I n asmuch aswe have been clouded by death's smoke and been choked with tears, we take consolation from the fact that his life was well lived. He is indeed a legend.

It is only fair that Katangese celebrate a true legend.

We say to the family, that may the peace of of God that surpasses all peace given by human, be with you. May the ears of heaven be opened to this cry

Those we love don't go away.

They walk beside us everyday.

Unseen, unheard but always near

Still loved, still missed and ever dear

Having said all we possibly can, we the members of the University Hall ,

say to you, rest in the most perfect of peace there is.
