Aggrieved workers

Some witnesses who spoke to the Daily Graphic explained that Adams was employed only a month ago and his main duty was to pack the finished products into the cars for delivery.

A security official at the factory said Adams and four of his colleagues were instructed by the Managing Director, whose name was only given as Mr Manasseh, to carry the beams since the crane workers had been sacked by the management.

According to him, Adams and his colleagues were further instructed to dismantle the old crane so that a new one could be used.

Abuse

When the Daily Graphic visited the scene at 1 p.m., most of the workers seemed aggrieved and were complaining bitterly.

Some said they were treated badly by the directors and that the incident would help them make their voices heard by the public and the government.

“These investors will never give you the chance to explain or express yourself. If you make an attempt to, you will either be sacked or insulted for explaining yourself or telling them you cannot do a particular job assigned.

“Yes, we need to work for our daily bread but the government should watch those they call investors who come to our country to create jobs because we can’t be in our country and be maltreated by outsiders,” they explained.
