'Increase your scores' book launched

A book detailing concrete and practical measures to be taken by students to  help them retain what they learn, has been launched at the Victory Bible Church International New Covenant Sanctuary at Mataheko, Accra.

Increase your Scores; Your Guide to Academic Excellence is a 10-chapter book  that presents thorough guidelines on how to improve upon your marks through discipline in the classroom, participation in group discussions and how to study on your own.

Other chapters of the book deal with the functioning of the brain as it relates to studying, religious connotations of learning, and the effects on the individual.

At the event, a Director at Bank of Ghana (BoG), Raymond Amanfu, underscored the need for students to resort to practical methods in their studies.

‘’I pray that this book brings to closure, the wants and needs of the Ghanaian student on how to retain and commit into memory, what is learnt’’, he noted.

The author of the book, Mr Hayford Kumah, a trained peer counsellor and a staff of the BoG, called on students to use the book as a turning point in their studies and adopt its practical approach to learning.

First copies of the book were bought  for GH¢ 2500 by Yooku Yawson of Reconcilers International, a Christian youth group.
