Illegal chainsaw operator trapped to death

An illegal chainsaw operator, Kofi Antwi, 25, who entered the Bia-Tano Forest Reserve at Biaso, near Gambia No 1, on Saturday, February 10, 2018 to harvest trees met his untimely death when he was trapped by a tree he was felling.

Police told the Graphic Online that the deceased was found trapped under the tree with a deep cut on his abdomen.

Chief Inspector Kingsley Oppong, Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Office said at about 8.00 am on Sunday, the Assemblyman of Biaso, Bernard Nti accompanied one Tweneboa Michael, 17 to report the incident to the police.

He added that Tweneboah said he accompanied the deceased to the forest the previous day to fell tress and in the process, Nti was trapped to death by the tree he felled.

Police has since deposited the body of the deceased at the mortuary at Goaso Municipal Hospital pending autopsy
