The move enabled the IGP to have first-hand information on how the victim was faring. During the visit, the IGP made a cash donation to the victim on admission, to help cater for his medical expenses.

The nursing sister in charge of the ward Mrs. Mercy Dorkenoo assured the IGP that the patient was responding very well to treatment, and that there had been considerable improvement in his health ever since he was admitted a couple of weeks ago.

As part of the solution to the problem, Mr. Asante-Apeatu has directed the institution of a number of measures, including formation of neighbourhood watch committee in the area, as a proactive means of preventing crime.

Accordingly, volunteers from all the groupings in the area will be taken through the requisite processes and orientation to ensure that they are adequately prepared for their responsibilities.

The Police Administration also continues to maintain visible Police presence at Agbogbloshie with the deployment of the Formed Police Unit [FPU] and other action units in the wake of the clashes that broke out on April 11, 2017.

An opinion leader at Agbogbloshie, Mr. Noah Kwame Upuin commended the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. David Asante-Apeatu for his concerns for the victims of the recent clashes and his commitment to a lasting peace in the community.

He said that the gesture of the IGP was very commendable, as it would go a long way to quicken the pace of recovery of the victim, Isaac Leti, adding that “we are all happy”.

He also entreated the Police and other stakeholders to do everything possible to see to the end of the perennial hostilities in the area, now that tension has calm down.
