IGP to appear before judgement debt commission

The IGP, Mr Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan to testify on judgement debtsThe Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Alhassan is expected to appear before the judgement debt commission on Wednesday July 31, 2013 to assist with inquiries into judgement debt payments.

Also to appear on Wednesday would be the office of National Archives to assist the commission in its work.

A statement signed by Mr George William Dove, a public relations officer at the judicial service said the invited persons are at liberty to appear with their lawyers.

It said members of the public who wish to testify or volunteer information are first to report at the commission’s office to give their statements after which a date will be scheduled for them to give evidence.

It also requested all those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the commission but are unable to be present in person to submit memoranda which would be treated confidentially.

The Commission of Inquiry was established by President John Mahama under the Sole Commissioner Mr Justice Yaw Appau, to inquire into Judgement Debts Payments and other related matters.
