According to the radio station, Mr McCauley has also refuted claims that he leveraged on a perceived relationship with the Minister of Finance, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta to secure a GH¢10.45million ADB Bank loan.

The radio station reported that Mr McCauley explained that he secured the loan purely on a business basis.

The Minority in Parliament at a press conference on Tuesday accused Mr Ofori-Atta of usurping the authority of the board of ADB by approving the credit facility to McDan Shipping Company.

The Minority also claimed that Mr Ofori-Atta breached the procurement law in the award of a COCOBOD contract to McDan Shiipping Company.

“The arrangement was purely a business transaction. The accusations are palpably false and the minister could not have usurped the powers of the ADB board. I don’t have any supply contract with COCOBOD. I am a client of ADB and I got the credit facility based on merit. I am a businessman and will not do anything to dent the reputation of my business,” the radio station quoted him as having said.

Meanwhile, Mr Ofori-Atta has also rejected the claims by the Minority that he breached due process by approving the loan facility.
