Hundreds queue to watch Anas' video at AICC (PHOTOS)

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mrs Marietta Brew Appiah Oppong was among the first group of guests who watched Anas Aremeyaw Anas' premiering of the video, which captured some judges allegedly taking bribes, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Tuesday.

Graphic Online's Jasmine Arku and Francis K. Osabutey who were among the first group of members of the public to watch the much anticipated video on judicial bribery reported that hundreds of people holding free tickets and looking excited queued at the AICC for the first show at 4pm. The main auditorium was full to capacity and many people sat in the aisles.

Cameras were not allowed into the main auditorium. According to our reporters, there was heavy vehicular traffic towards the AICC and a number of security personnel were present at the venue.

Anas himself was at the venue with a number of dignitaries. Before screening the video, Ghana’s national anthem was sang and a short prayer session held followed by a few speeches.

Titled "Ghana in the Eyes of God - Epic of Injustice", the video was a result of two years of investigations by Anas.

One of the indicted High Court judges, Justice Paul Uuter Dery had earlier filed a suit to stop Anas from premiering the video at the AICC but withdrew the suit Tuesday morning.

A second application for injunction against the AICC seeking to restrain it from using its premises for the premiere is still pending and would be heard on Tuesday October 13, 2015.

Anas uncovered the alleged rot in a two-year investigation which also caught more than 100 members of staff of the Judicial Service, policemen and prosecutors either extorting and/or taking bribes.
