Mr Ebenezer Fiahagbe, 48, was shot on the left side of his chest, and died instantly.

He was at home with his wife, two children and a housekeeper.

The Public Affairs Officer of the Tema Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ms Juliana Obeng, told journalists that between 2:30 and 3 a.m. last Monday, the police patrol team around Dawhenya received information that there had been a robbery attack in a house near Able Academy School at Community 25.

She said the team quickly moved to the location but by the time they arrived, the robbers had escaped, leaving behind the deceased.

Ms Obeng said preliminary investigations revealed that three men, one of them wielding an AK-47 assault rifle, broke into the house of the deceased and with the aid of a car jack, opened a window to the room and shot him.

The Police PRO said initial investigations pointed to the fact that the robbers took nothing from the house.

Ms Obeng said the body had since been deposited at the Police Hospital.

Meanwhile, one Lacoste shirt, a black car jack and seven empty AK-47 shells spotted at the scene are being held by the police to aid in their investigations.

When the Daily Graphic visited the residence, some officials of the EPA were in the house but declined to comment on the issue.
