The Acting Chief Executive of GRIDCo, Dr Thomas Wobil Ansah, said over the past five years, the company had not only expanded physically as an institution but had also ‘asserted itself  and assumed a place in the electricity  production value chain as a driver of national and regional development through the transmission of reliable electricity  power. ’

He commended the staff for their patience and determination in helping the company to achieve its objectives.

Dr Ansah said the company had since 2008 initiated 24 projects out of which 11 had been completed while the remaining were at different stages of completion.

The Tema Regional Engineer of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Mr Mark Wiafe, called on the staff to strive to make Ghana one of the highest power-generating countries in the sub region.

The officiating minister at the thanksgiving service to mark the celebration, Rev Canon Stephen Adjei, exhorted the staff to take consolation in the progress made so far and not to be discouraged by the reaction of the public to power outages.
