Goasohene rallies citizens for devt of Ahafo regional capital

The Omanhene of Goaso, Nana Baffour Kwasi Bosomprah, has urged citizens of the town to unite and support the development of the Ahafo regional capital.

He said with the creation of the Ahafo Region and the elevation of Goaso to the status of regional capital, a lot was expected from the citizens who must put their shoulder to the wheel to accelerate the development of the town

He made the call when the Executive of the Goaso Development Association called on him at Goaso to formally introduce the association to the traditional council.

The executive used the opportunity to discuss the management of waste and other development issues with the chiefs.

The Association

The association, which is made up of citizens of the Ahafo regional capital and its environs, is a social organisation with the objective of pooling resources to drive the development of the town.

Most of the members are resident outside Goaso but use the power of social media to interact periodically to discuss the progress of Goaso.

Government

Nana Bosomprah said while the government was doing its part to bring development to the region and the capital, it was incumbent on the people to also play their part effectively.

He said many communities were looking for ways to strengthen their economies and provide better quality of life for their people, and Goaso could not afford to stay behind.

Describing Goaso as a traditional town of immense importance, he gave anassurance that the council would continue to seek what was best for the town.

The Omanhene commended the citizens for the formation of the association and urged other citizens, both home and abroad, to join it to help in the development of the area.

Association chairman

The chairman of the association, Major Kofi Awuah ( Retd), said the association was not created to compete but to team up with Nananom and the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly and the Regional Coordinating Council towards the development of the newly created Ahafo Region.
