Ghanaians react to uniBank's takeover

After the shocking news Tuesday of uniBank's takeover by the Bank of Ghana, a section of the public have taken to Twitter to react to the development.

While some raise questions in apparent mockery of the decision, others are also trying to make sense of its implications for the economy and their own pockets.

One user with the handle;"@OneKeys said UT BANK gone                                                                                                                      Unibank gone...and foreign businesses keep flourishing when all our local businesses keep struggling. I keep asking myself is it even worth it to be GHANAIAN.
It’s like there’s no support system for anything Ghanaian. God help us."

Another user with the handle @SeanReezy25 also tweeted "Unibank management basically knew they were cash strapped and moved to acquire ADBs shares in order to recapitalise. BOG wasn't having it."
