He noted that the same way that Ghanaians sought God’s face, waited patiently and he answered their prayer in protecting the nation in the elections and other major epidemics, they should continue to be patient and rely on him, because God had heard their cry and will make Ghana flourish.

Pastor Obeng who is the head pastor of the largest English church congregation in the Ashanti Region was speaking to the media minutes before the church ushered in 2018 with prayers, praises and jubilation in Kumasi.

Leaders
Commenting on what the leaders should do, he noted that political leaders have commenced on a good note and should not relent in seeking the face of God and that 2018 would be better than 2017 with the help of God.

“I am certain that 2018 will be better and prosperous because I have the assurance in my spirit and God has told me that 2018 is going to be better than 2018 for Ghana”.

He cautioned members of government not to turn their backs to God or from seeking His counsel when they begin to realize progress, rather they should remain humble, stay focused and give Him the desired recognition.

Preaching
Basing his sermon on John 5:1-5 of the Holy Bible, Pastor Ransford said God was aware of the needs of every Ghanaian, especially those who have no one to support them and gave assurance that if they continued to seek the face of Jesus Christ who healed the sick man by the pool, he would also answer their prayers.

He said God created the world and imbued it with abundance of resources that could cater adequately for the needs of the over 7 billion people in the world but greed and lack of compassion on the side of those who have was the reason why people were poor.

Pastor Obeng said that just as in the Old Testament God instructed the Israelites to leave some of their produce on the farm after harvesting so that the poor, strangers and others who could not work to also benefit, if those who have in abundance in the world today also shared, the world would not have poor people.

Doctors and Nurses
Pastor Obeng called for special prayers and recognition for medical doctors and nurses because God had given them exceptional knowledge and courage to assist the sick, especially people who were ageing and require their support.

He added that though God had imbued the doctors and nurses with the knowledge to diagnose diseases and prescribe appropriate medicine, they could not deal with all ailments and that was why Christ came to have mercy on such people.
