The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ms Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey wants the Chinese government to immediately address the inhumane treatment meted out to Ghanaians and other African nationals in China in relation to the coronavirus pandemic.

Consequently, the minister has summoned the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Shi Ting Wang to register the country's displeasure over the issue.

There have been reports of many African nationals being evicted from their homes and discriminated against in China over fears that they may be bringing the virus to the country.

In a statement, Ms Ayorkor Botchwey, condemned the act and said a formal communication from the government of Ghana will be issued within the next 24 hours to address the situation at hand.
