COVID-19: Ghana records 7th confirmed Coronavirus case
The number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Ghana has increased to 7.
A tweet by the Disease Surveillance Dept of the Ghana Health Service confirming the case said it was recorded at 3.00 pm in the Greater Accra region on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

"This afternoon (17 March 2020); we have received report from NMIMR that indicated one (1) more confirmed case as positive for COVID-19 in Greater Accra Region," the tweet said.

A statement published on the Ghana Health Service website said the patient is a 35-year-old male Ghanaian citizen, who returned to Accra from France within the past 14 days.
"This afternoon (17 March 2020); we have received report from NMIMR that indicated one (1) more confirmed case as positive for COVID-19 in Greater Accra Region. The case patient is a 35-year-old male, a Ghanaian citizen, who returned to Acca from France within the past 14 days. This is another imported case, which brings the total number of confirmed cases to seven (7). The case is being managed in isolation and he is in stable condition," the statement said.
"With regard to contact tracing, a total of 350 contacts have been identified and are being followed up".

UPDATES OF CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19) IN GHANA, 17 MARCH 2020, 15:00-Hr
As of 17 March 2020, a total of 143 suspected cases have been tested for COVID-19 by Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) and Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR).

With regard to contact tracing, a total of 350 contacts have been identified and are being followed up.
Two of the contacts who developed symptoms, had their samples tested but they came out to be negative. Currently, there is no death and all the seven (7) confirmed COVID-19 cases are being managed in isolation and are in stable condition.
Timeline
Ghana announced its first two cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) on March 12, 2020. Ghana's Minister of Health, Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu said the two cases were confirmed Thursday, March 12, 2020.
The confirmed cases of the Coronavirus increased to a total of six on Saturday, March 14, 2020.
The Director of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Badu Sarkodie said the four new cases like the previous two announced last Thursday were imported into Ghana.
He said all the patients were in stable condition and did not show symptoms at arrival at the ports.
Currently, there are no deaths and all the seven (7) confirmed COVID-19 cases are being managed in isolation and are in stable condition.
