It is the latest in a series of donations to support paramountcies, households and Wulomei in the Ga-Dangbe communities since the launch of the Homowo festival

The items include boxes of Castle Bridge, bottles of water, soft drinks, crates of alcoholic beverages, sacks of maize and palm nut, gallons of palm oil and undisclosed amounts of money.

Beneficiaries

The minister was accompanied by the Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Elizabeth Tawiah Sackey, and other leaders.
Beneficiaries are the family gates in Osu, the La Traditional Council and the five clans of Teshie.

While the respective family heads of Osu received their items at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, items meant for the five clans of Teshie were handed over to the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly for onward distribution to the beneficiaries.

Rationale

Mr Titus-Glover explained that the distribution of the Homowo food items formed part of the government’s commitment to preserving the cultural traditions in the city.
