Nominations for 8th energy awards released
Over 170 submissions were received between June 27 and August 30, this year as entries to be selected for the Ghana Energy Awards.

The ceremony is scheduled for October 25, 2024, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, is expected to bring together industry leaders, policymakers and key stakeholders in the energy sector.
The gathering is aimed at celebrating excellence, innovation and leadership within energy landscape of the country.
A statement signed by the Events Director, Henry Teinor, and made available to the Daily Graphic in Accra, said nominations for the awards have been released.
The statement said this year's competition, which was the eighth edition since the commencement of the awards ceremony witnessed an impressive surge in interest with the nominations spanning across 25 competitive categories.
It said the interests showcased the diverse contributions of individuals, companies, and institutions dedicated to advancing the energy sector of the country.
It described the process that led to the shortlisting as rigorous and reflecting the high standards that the Ghana Energy Awards upheld.
The statement said the awards secretariat, together with the awarding panel, undertook significant measures to ensure transparency and accuracy.
Theme
This year’s event is on the theme; “The role of local content in building Ghana’s energy sector.”
The Ghana Energy Awards is organised by the Energy Media Group and seeks to recognise the contributions of industry players to the energy development of the country through healthy competition.
The statement said the awards was fully endorsed by the Ministry of Energy, its allied agencies and the World Energy Council Ghana, with validation from Forvis Mazars.
