MTN@30 rewards 3 customers with Toyota Land Cruiser Prados

Telecommunications giant MTN Ghana has presented three brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prados to three of its customers from across the country who are the latest winners in the MTN@30 promotion.

A student and entrepreneur, Benedicta Obeng Asare, Samuel Obeng, who described himself only as a customer, and So-Otey Medintey, a farmer, each drove home the brand-new luxury vehicle for emerging tops in their respective zones, comprising the Greater Accra Region, Ashanti Region and the Northern part of the country for MTN’s anniversary thank-you promotion.

They emerged winners after following the promotion through many channels and increasing their use of MTN services, including buying data for family members and colleagues to accumulate points towards the grand prize.

The latest winners bring the total to nine, the number of winners in the MTN@ 30 promo, which began in June and ended in August 2026.

In addition to the nine brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles awarded under the promotion, Bright Twumasi Ankrah from Zone Two received a cash prize of GH¢30,000, the cash category of the promotion aimed at giving back to the customers.

From doubt to a dream come true

Ms Asare said winning the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado was a dream come true after she took advantage of the promotion by increasing her use of MTN services.

“I am so happy and so thankful to God Almighty and MTN for making this promotion a dream come true,” she said.

For Mr Obeng, he said he decided to participate after seeing the promotion on Facebook, although he initially wondered whether it was a scam.

He said he became convinced of its authenticity when MTN called to inform him that he had won a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

“I said, ‘Wow’, meaning it is not a scam. A big thanks goes to MTN for giving me this Prado. I really appreciate it,” he said.

The third winner, So-Otey Medintey, a farmer from the Upper West Region, said he heard about the promotion through his children and was excited when he learnt that he had won the vehicle.

Rewarding 30 years of customer loyalty

Speaking at the presentation ceremony at the MTN House in Accra last Thursday, the Senior Manager for Customer Marketing at MTN Ghana, Sandra Oduro Antwi, said the promotion was part of the company’s efforts to appreciate customers who had supported its operations over the past 30 years.

She said the anniversary was an opportunity for MTN to give back to its customers, who had remained central to the company’s growth and success.

Ms Antwi said the promotion was designed to make participation simple and accessible to customers across the country.

She explained that customers did not need to register separately or engage in activities outside their normal routines to qualify for the rewards.

Instead, they accumulated points through their everyday use of MTN services, including making calls, purchasing data bundles, using Mobile Money to send money to family and friends, paying for goods and services, and engaging with the company’s digital platforms.

She said MTN worked with KPMG to oversee the promotion, given the size of its customer base and the need to ensure that the process was properly managed.
