MDAs in Accra disinfected

LCB Worldwide, a crisis management organisation, has partnered the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to undertake a disinfection exercise, targeting the ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in Accra.

The two-day exercise, which started last Saturday, is to help ensure the safety of workers at the various MDAs, in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The exercise involved about 30 spraying gangs.

The Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah, said the exercise was necessary due to the number of people who trooped to the various ministries, government offices and public institutions daily.

Vulnerable staff

That, he said, made the staff very vulnerable, and if such measures were not taken, it could increase the risk of they coming into contact with the virus and getting infected.

Mr Sowah commended LCB Worldwide for throwing its weight behind the government in the fight against the pandemic.

The Chief Executive Officer of LCB Worldwide, Mr Kareem Abu, said the activity was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, indicating that it was to offer a helping hand to the government and support it in such challenging times.

“This is a global crisis and everyone is at risk. More countries are struggling to contain the spread and our country is doing its best to protect lives. The government cannot do this and needs every form of support from us the private individuals,” he said.
